Fiji Airways is, expectedly, the official airline company of the country of Fiji. And although this airline operates many international flights, not many of them are to the United States. However, the SFO remains a prominent destination of Fiji Airways, especially that it connects Fiji with the US.

As is also expected, the Fiji Airways flights are welcomed in the International Terminal. But due to the occasional codeshare flights, they could arrive at Terminal 1 or Terminal 2.
Find out here which terminal your Fiji Airways flight is arriving at.

Departures Terminal:

As is the case with arriving flights, departing flights of Fiji Airways from the SFO leave from the International Airport. The gates of the airline can be found in Zone G of the terminal.
If your flight will be a codeshare flight, then it is most likely at Terminal 1 or Terminal 2.

Check out where your Fiji Airways flight is departing from at the SFO here.

Codeshare

Since Fiji Airways has been a proud member of the OneWorld Alliance since 2018, it has been able to form many connections with multiple airline companies as they codeshare a lot of flights together.

When it comes to operations at the SFO, Fiji Airways codeshares flights with Alaska Airlines and even American Airlines.

Finnair is the official airline of the country of Finland. It has been operating for nearly a hundred years, connecting Finland with the rest of the world. As of yet, it flies to more than a hundred destinations, with the SFO being a very important one in the United States.

Finnair codeshares flights with many different airlines at the SFO, which is why it is often deemed as not having a particular terminal through which it may land at. However, as it is an international flight, you may expect the flight to land at the International Terminal.

Otherwise, expect your Finnair flight to land at either Terminal 1 or Terminal 2.

Click here to discover exactly which terminal your Finnair flight will land at.

Departures Terminal:

The case is no different with departing Finnair flights at the SFO. These flights most often leave from the International Terminal, but leaving from Terminal 1, or even Terminal 2, is not too far off.
This is why it is important to find out which terminal your Finnair flight will leave from at the SFO, which you can do here.

Flights

To gain access to the schedules of the flights at the SFO, click here.

Codeshare

As discussed earlier, Finnair codeshares flights with many different companies. This is made possible thanks to the fact that the airline is a member of the OneWorld Alliance. At the SFO, some of these companies include prominent names such as American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, British Airways, and Iberia.

Departures Terminal:

Frontier flights leaving the SFO are also housed in the International Terminal. To be more precise, you may find your Frontier gates in Zone A at the terminal.

Codeshare

Frontier is currently not a member of any particular alliance. It also does not codeshare flights often. At the SFO in particular, Frontier Airlines does not codeshare flights with any other airline company.

And although this airline does not codeshare flights with other airlines, it may still operate at a terminal other than the international one. This is why it is always best to check your flight details ahead of time.

The KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is the official airline company of the country of Netherlands. Interestingly enough, it is also the oldest airline company in the entire world!

When it comes to the Royal Dutch’s trips to the SFO, the passengers of the airlines are welcomed at the International Terminal. This may be subject to change, however, as the airline could codeshare flights with other companies. For this reason and more, the passengers of the Royal Dutch could be welcomed at the Terminal 2 of the SFO.

To find out where your Royal Dutch flight will land at the SFO, press here.

This makes checking your flight information beforehand very important, and you can do so here.

If your Royal Dutch flight is, indeed, departing from the International Terminal, then you can expect to find your gate in Zone A of the terminal.

Departures Terminal:

The SAS flights leaving from the SFO also do so from the International Terminal. The check-in gates of the SAS can be found at the third level of the terminal, while the gate can be found at Zone G.

As discussed with the arriving SAS flights, if the flight is a codeshare flight, then it is more likely that it will operate from Terminal 3 instead.

Turkish Airlines is, as is expected, the official airline company of the country of Turkey. As of now, the reach of this major airline extends to a staggering 340 destinations around the globe.
One of these destinations is the SFO. And upon arrival at this airport, the airline is suitably welcomed at the International Terminal.

This terminal is not always the receiving facility for Turkish Airlines, however, as it may arrive at Terminal 2 or even Terminal 3 sometimes. This happens when the flight is a codeshare flight that is being operated by a different company instead.

To find out where your Turkish Airlines flight will land at the SFO, click here.

Departures Terminal:

Turkish Airlines flights that are outgoing from the SFO are also operated at the rather large and accommodating International Terminal. Specifically, you may find your gate for this airline at Zone G of the airport.

If your flight will, yet again, be a codeshare flight, then expect to find your check-in desks and gate at Terminal 2 or Terminal 3.

Codeshare

This airline is a member of the ever-growing Star Alliance. This great connection allows it to codeshare flights with other companies. At the SFO, these companies include Air Canada, Avianca, and United Airlines.

WestJet Airlines is a Canadian-based airline company. And although international flights are often welcomed at the International Terminal, some Canadian flights may be welcomed alongside other domestic flights in terminals 1, 2, and 3, at the SFO.

So, WestJet may arrive at the International Terminal or at Terminal 1, also known as the Harvey Milk Terminal. In some cases, it may even arrive at Terminal 2.

To figure out which terminal your WestJet flight will be arriving at, click here.

Departures Terminal:

Similar to the situation with the arriving flights, departing WestJet flights often operate from the International Terminal, but they may operate from Terminal 1 as well. And again, under some circumstances, such as codeshare flights, they may operate from Terminal 2.

At the International Terminal, you can find the WestJet gate at Zone A. The check-in desks should be on the third level of the terminal.

Find out whether your WestJet flight will fly out of the International Terminal or any other terminal at the SFO, here.

Flights
To access the SFO flight tracker platform and track any flight you want, click here.

Codeshare
Although WestJet is right now not a member of any specific alliance, it has active partnerships with several airlines around the world. Through these partnerships, it is better able to codeshare flights. At the SFO, the WestJet codesharing of flights happens with AeroMexico and Delta Air Lines mostly.

Departures Terminal:

Whenever China Airlines leaves from the SFO, it does so from the International Terminal as well. More precisely, the airline’s check-in desks can be found at the third level of the terminal, with the gates found in Zone A.

The China Airlines lounge can also be found at the International Terminal, not far from Zone A either.

If your China Airlines flight is departing from any other terminal, then it is most likely going to be Terminal 2. Find out the departing terminal of your upcoming China Airlines flight here.

Codeshare

China Airlines is a member of the SkyTeam Alliance. That enables it to partner with varied companies around the world. At the SFO, China Airlines codeshares flights mainly with Delta Air Lines.

The terminals of the airport are distributed to allow maximum comfort and ease for passengers through the airport.

Every year, tens of millions of visitors pass through the airport, and it would be impossible not to have such a distribution.

There are four main terminals in total, each catering to specific passengers. The first three terminals, labeled from one to three, mainly cater to passengers of domestic flights and also those flying to and from Canada. The other airport, deemed the International Airport, caters to passengers of international flights.

Arrivals Terminal:

United Airlines plays a major role at the SFO and operates many different flights to different destinations both in and outside the country. For that reason, the terminal through which your flight may arrive at may be difficult to predict at times, as it is subject to change based on several factors.

Mainly, however, you are most likely to have your United Airline flight arrive at Terminal 3 at the SFO. Other terminals that may receive United Airlines flights include the International Terminal and Terminal 2.

To find out at which SFO terminal your United flight is arriving at, press here.

Departures Terminal:

When it comes to United Airlines flights departing from the SFO, the same rules apply. Which is why it is also better to check exactly where you can expect to find your gate at (gate number and terminal), at the SFO prior to your flight time. You can do so here.

But you can most likely find your United flight departing from Terminal 3. The International Terminal and Terminal 2 are also valid options, so make sure to get your information set ahead of time.

Flights

This is the case with most flights, as set terminals and gate numbers are not written in stone. For that reason, it is best to always be prepared before you get to the airport. And if you are arriving at the SFO, it is recommended that you familiarize yourself with the details so that you save yourself some valuable time. Check out the SFO flight tracker here.

Codeshare

Your United flight may operate from different terminals for many reasons. One of which is that your flight may be headed to or coming from an international destination. The other reason is that it could be a codeshare flight with other companies. This means that it will arrive at or depart from the terminals through which these airlines operate at.

These airlines include:

Air Canada

Air New Zealand

All Nippon Airways – ANA

Copa Airlines

SWISS

The four main terminals at the SFO each cater to specific passengers. The first three terminals, labeled from one to three, cater to fliers of domestic flights. They also cater to passengers who are flying to and from Canada.

The last terminal, as expected, is the International Terminal. This terminal obviously caters to passengers of international flights.

Arrivals Terminal:

With the knowledge of the domestic versus the international terminals, it makes sense that Southwest Airlines, which is a Texas-based company, would operate from Terminal 1.

Thus, if the SFO is your destination of choice via Southwest, then you are most likely to be greeted at Terminal 1. However, this may be subject to change, which is why it is always best to check ahead of time.

To check the details of your Southwest flight arriving at the SFO, click here.

Departures Terminal:

Similarly, your Southwest flights leaving from the SFO will also most likely operate from Terminal 1. Again, this may not always be the case, so do check on your flight information prior to your arrival at the airport. This may save you time in transferring between terminals, and you may even be able to park more conveniently at your designated terminal.
At Terminal 1, find your Southwest gate at the second level.

To find out which SFO terminal your Southwest flight will fly from, click here.

Flights

To find out all the information you need about SFO flights and their schedules at the airport, click here.

Codeshare

Southwest Airlines does not codeshare with any other airline companies at the SFO. This is the reason as to why your flight is less likely to be found at a terminal other than Terminal 1.
However, there may be other reasons for the change of terminals that are not accounted for. So, do click here to find out the status of your flight and the SFO terminal that it will land at or depart from.

Qatar Airways is a major airline company that operates to nearly two hundred destinations around the world. It is the official airline company of the country of Qatar, and it thus operates international flights.

International flights are housed in the International Airport at the SFO. And with that in mind, you can clearly expect your Qatar Airways flight to the SFO to be welcomed at the International Terminal.

Unfortunately, this is not always the case. Oftentimes, flights can be codeshared with other airline companies and can thus be expected to arrive at different terminals. So, if not at the International Terminal, you can expect your Qatar Airways flight to arrive at either Terminal 1 or Terminal 2.

To be sure of the terminal you will arrive at, check out this page here.

Departures Terminal:

Similar rules apply to Qatar Airways flights leaving from the SFO, as they can expect to depart from the International Terminal mostly, with the occasional instances of departures from Terminal 1 or Terminal 2.

At the International Terminal, you may confidently head over to zone A to find your gate.

To find out the details of your Qatar Airways flight departing from the SFO, press here.

Flights

To inquire more about flights heading to the SFO and leaving from it, check out the schedules here. For more specific information about the status of your upcoming flight to or from the SFO, press here.

Codeshare

As previously stated, Qatar Airways may operate flights as codeshare flights with other airlines. This has been facilitated by the OneWorld alliance that this company happens to be a member of.
At the SFO, Qatar Airways is able to codeshare flights with American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, and also Iberia. This is the exact reason as to why your flights with Qatar Airways can sometimes be found at a terminal different from the International Terminal.

The layout of the SFO allows passengers of different airlines to be neatly distributed to different terminals. For instance, the International Terminal, as the naming implies, handles international flights, and the terminals labeled one through three handle domestic flights in addition to flights to and from Canada.

This distribution is crucial for the avoidance of immense traffic at the airport and for the regulation of the flights. Passengers benefit by having less traffic and a smoother trip across the airport. They can also better enjoy the amenities offered at each terminal better.

Arrivals Terminal:

JetBlue Airways handles flight that are domestic and ones that are international, as this airline travels to and from over a hundred different locations.

The main terminal at the SFO through which you should expect your JetBlue flight to arrive at is Terminal 1. However, your international flight may be received at the International Airport.
To be more informed about the details of your incoming JetBlue flight to the SFO, you can check out this page.

Departures Terminal:

When it comes to JetBlue flights departing from the SFO, the situation is more or less similar in the sense that you are most likely to find your fight gate at Terminal 1, with the additional possibility of finding it at the International Terminal.

To find out the exact gate location and gate number of your upcoming JetBlue flight at the SFO, click here.

It is important to note that if you find yourself at a terminal that is not the terminal through which your flight is flying from, getting to the correct terminal is a piece of cake. Simply find the arrows pointing to the nearest AirTrain platform, board the shuttle that passes every four minutes or so, and get off at the correct stop. This service is completely free of charge and is meant to make inter-terminal transportation as simplistic and as quick as possible.

Flights

To be even more prepared, check out the information about your flights arriving at and leaving from the SFO here.

Codeshare

Although one reason as to why your JetBlue flight at the SFO may operate from the International Terminal is due to the fact that it might be heading to an international destination, it is actually not the only reason. Flights of JetBlue may be operated by different companies as part of a codeshare flight agreement. This partnership is common amongst airline companies, and JetBlue is no exception.

Companies that may partner with JetBlue at the SFO include American Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines.

Each of the terminals serves a significant purpose, and the terminal through which your flight will either depart from or land at will depend on the airline itself.

The flights that operate to and from destinations within the United States itself arrive at and depart from one of the three terminals labeled one through three.

Arrivals Terminal:

American Airlines operates not only flights within the country, but also flies to locations across the border. This ultimately signifies that the terminal through which your flight will arrive at (or even depart from) with this airline will depend on your destination.

However, it is possible to narrow it down to the single most common terminal through which most American Airlines flights arrive at. And that terminal happens to be the first terminal (aka Terminal 1).

This does not negate the possibility of finding your flight arriving at the second terminal, or even the International Terminal. As previously mentioned, this depends on where your flight is coming from.

Find out more details here about your American Airlines flight arriving at the SFO.

Departures Terminal:

In preparing for your American Airlines flight departing from the SFO, the same information stated above is relevant here. The terminal you are most likely to find your check-in desk and gate at is Terminal 1. Yet, depending on your final destination along with other factors, your gate may be either at Terminal 2 or the International Terminal.

To inquire about the location of the gate of your American Airlines flight at the SFO, press here.

Flights

For even more information regarding all flights coming into the SFO and departing from it, press here and track your flight based on airline or route.

Codeshare

There is another reason as to why your flight may arrive at or operate from a different terminal, and that is codeshare flights. Codeshare flights are those that an airline company shares with an allied company and can thus be subject to rules and regulations of the latter company.

In other words, American Airlines is a member of the OneWorld alliance, which allows it to share flights with other airlines, which ultimately means operating at different terminals.

Some of these allied airline companies at the SFO include:

Alaska Airlines

British Airways

Cathay Pacific

Fiji Airway

Iberia

JetBlue Airways

Arrivals Terminal:

As Air New Zealand is the official airline of its native country, it is considered an international airline at the SFO and is thus greeted accordingly. The international flights at the airport arrive at the International Terminal most of the times.
For flights that codeshare with another airline, this isn’t always the case. Typically, certain airlines fly under codesharing agreements with one another as part of alliances with other airlines. This company is no different, and a few of its affiliated airlines run out of and land at several different terminals, mainly the second and third terminals. As a result, it’s possible that your flight will land at a one of those.
To be certain of which terminal your Air New Zealand flight is arriving at, check out this page.

Departures Terminal:

Flights operated by Air New Zealand out of SFO are subject to the same regulations. This implies that although while your flight gate will likely be at the international terminal, you shouldn’t be shocked if it is shown as being in either Terminal 2 or Terminal 3.

This is especially true of codeshare flights run by airlines with American bases.

Visit this page to learn information about the gate and terminal for your scheduled Air New Zealand flight at SFO.

Flights

Perhaps you are more interested in comprehensive information about all flights arriving to and departing from the SFO. If so, you can click here for the schedules and here for an SFO flight tracker.

Codeshare

With Air New Zealand being a member of the largest airline alliance in the world, the Star Alliance, it is thus partnered with several companies at the SFO.
These companies include both domestic and international ones such as the Virgin Atlantic, Lufthansa, United Airlines, and even Air Canada.

Arrivals Terminal: Air France is the official airline company of France, and it is welcomed at the SFO at the International Terminal.

Arrivals Terminal:

Air France is the official airline company of France, and it is welcomed at the SFO at the International Terminal. That is understandable as most of the international flights are welcomed in that terminal. But this is sometimes not the case, as some Air France flights may be codeshare flights with other airlines that could be landing at a different terminal.

Generally speaking, other than the International Terminal, you have the highest chance of finding your flight at Terminal 2.

If you would like to be sure as to which exact terminal at the SFO your Air France flight is landing at, check out this page.

Departures Terminal:

You’re acting appropriately if your Air France flight is scheduled to leave from SFO soon and you want to prepare yourself in advance. Most likely, you can locate your gate and check-in counter at the International Terminal. Terminal 2 is your best option if the flight isn’t departing from the International Terminal.

Your gate is also most probably located at Zone A, and the check-in desk is on the third level. This is applicable only if you find your flight leaving from the International Terminal.

You are also recommended to check out the Air France – KLM Lounge for maximum comfort, relaxation, and luxury prior to your flight!

For more information on your upcoming Air France flight at the SFO, click here.

Flights

You may benefit from being informed on the general schedules of all flights coming into the SFO and departing from it. Click here to check out the SFO flight schedules.

Codeshare

You are probably already familiar with the concept explained earlier of the codesharing of flights.

Air France is a member of the great SkyTeam alliance and is thus able to codeshare flights with multiple different companies. This is the reason as to why your Air France flight may operate from Terminal 2 rather than the International Terminal.

The airlines that could codeshare flights with Air France at the SFO include Delta Air Lines, the KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, and the Virgin Atlantic.

Arrivals Terminal:

This airline company is the official one of its native country of Mexico, and it is one of the largest in the region. At the SFO, the airline is mainly greeted at the International Terminal for obvious reasons.

However, these rules are subject to change as some AeroMexico flights may be codeshare flights being operated by other airlines. These airlines are generally allied to AeroMexico, and together, they might operate different flights. Due to that, your AeroMexico flight may arrive at either Terminal 1 or Terminal 2.

This is why the best thing you can do prior to your arrival at this airport is to familiarize yourself with the necessary information. Such information includes the timing of your arrival, the expected terminal of arrival, the traffic rate at that time… etc.

Details about arriving AeroMexico flights to the SFO can be found here.

Departures Terminal:

When it comes to AeroMexico flights leaving from the SFO, you can most likely expect them to be at the International Terminal as well. However, in case of a codeshare flight, keep an eye out to the possibility of having your gate be at Terminal 2.

For checking in to your flight, when your flight is operating from the International Terminal, head over to the third level for the desk, and then find your gate in zone A.

These specifics will greatly help you save some precious time that you would rather spend dining at one of the many restaurants at the SFO, or wandering the shops and stores.

For more information on your upcoming AeroMexico flight at the SFO, click here.

Flights

It may be beneficial to stay up to date with all the information on flights incoming to and leaving from the SFO. Check the SFO flight tracker here.

Codeshare

As already discussed, AeroMexico oftentimes shares codeshare flights with other airlines. This is possible thanks to its membership in the SkyTeam alliance. Some of the companies that AeroMexico can codeshare flights with at the SFO include Delta Air Lines, WestJet, and the Virgin Atlantic.

This service that the SFO is a shuttle that transports people across varied locations across the airport. From terminals to parking zones.

The AirTrain is important as it operates on a 24/7 basis and helps in transferring people quickly and efficiently throughout the establishment. It is also completely free to use, and flyers can take their luggage with them on board. Service animals and transported crated animals are also allowed. In addition to that, bicycles may also be permitted on board.

This convenient service is used constantly by visitors to the airport, and although it works non-stop, the travel times may vary slightly between the times of 11:00 pm and 5:00 am. The usual working time is that the train arrives every 4-5 minutes.

To inquire about the destinations and the running time of this service, you can get informed at any of the information booths near and around the stations. You may even call the AirTrain customer service line at +1 800 435 9736.

AirTrain at SFO

The train runs on two different lines, with each line following a different route and encompassing different destinations across its path. Furthermore, one path is relatively shorter than the other, even though both run in a circular direction and loop around the airport as they go from one destination to the next on a non-stop basis.

Red and blue are the two separate routes. The red stops at each terminal, each terminal’s parking garage, on-site hotel, and BART platform.

The blue line takes a longer route, covering the same stops as the red line as well as the long-term parking lot and the Car Rental facility.

San Francisco train to airport

You’ll probably board the BART if you want to go by train from San Francisco to the airport SFO. The good news is that the AirTrain lines red and blue stop at every BART platform at SFO. This implies that you can board an AirTrain and go to any terminal of your choice as soon as you arrive at the airport via BART.

The contrary is also true, as you can exit the airport by traveling to a BART station using the AirTrain. You can even go to Millbrae Station, where you may board a Caltrain, after using the BART.
At the SFO, Garage C is where you’ll find the BART platform. Both lines pass this stop, as was previously mentioned.

SFO AirTrain schedule and locations

If you’re wondering exactly where you can board the AirTrain at each terminal, you may do so at level 3 at the first three terminals and level 5 in their parking garages, level 4 at the International Terminal and level 7 in its own parking garage.

Even though it is anticipated that the AirTrain will pass by around every four minutes, it is best to check the timetable and the precise locations and routes when making travel arrangements.
You can check the blue line schedule here. Specifics about the red line can be checked here.

Of the many choices of transportation one can take, taking the public bus may be the most convenient in terms of getting to and from set locations at the most affordable prices!

Taking a San Francisco bus to airport (SFO) means that you will board the SamTrans. You can catch this bus from downtown San Fran, or from any of its other stops across the county! The SamTrans buses to San Francisco airport are along the Route 292, Route 398, and Route 140.

The specifics of each are as follows:

The 292 takes you to San Fran and the Hillside mall, the 398 takes you to San Fran as well, but also the Redwood City Transit Center, and the 140 takes you to Manor/Palmetto.

SONOMA COUNTY TO SFO

Where do I catch the buses at each terminal?

At the airport itself, each bus also stops at different locations across the terminals and centers on the premises of the establishment. Here is the full breakdown:

The 292 stops are the following locations at the airport (across all terminals):

At the third terminal, the 292 can be found near Courtyard 4

At the International Terminal, the 292 waits for passengers near zones A and G

It also conveniently passes by the specified center for car rental agencies

The maintenance center that is specific to United Airlines

The business center

And finally, the West Field Road

Note that the 292 does not stop at the first couple of terminals.

The 398 stops at the same locations as the 292 at Terminal 3 and the International Terminal. These are the only airport stops of the 398.

The 140 does not stop at any terminal, but instead goes to the Car Rental Center, as well as the United Airlines Maintenance Center.

If you find yourself at one terminal and need to be at another to catch the bus, then worry not, as there are inter-terminal transportation services that carry passengers around the airport locations promptly and even for free!

To check out the up-to-date 292 bus schedule San Francisco and the schedule of other buses, along with the fares and ticket options, head on over to the SamTrans website for all the details.

San Francisco airporter bus and hotel shuttles

Many people are often unaware of the option of taking an airporter bus. These buses carry the same concept of the regular public buses, with the one major difference being that they are run by private companies. There are many companies that operate such buses, and many of them allow you to book a ticket right there on the spot at the airport.

The other option is an airport shuttle. If you’re staying at a hotel in the city, no matter how far it may be from the airport, inquire about the availability of an airport shuttle. These services are generally free of charge (provided by the hotel to their customers) and are very convenient since they take customers directly to the hotel from the airport. No stops or rounds around the city needed!

The transportation options at the SFO are quite varied and range from renting a private car or even a limousine, to taking the public (or private) bus or a shuttle to your hotel. The one option, however, that often sticks out is the choice to catch a cab.

Travelers often prefer getting taxis over other transportation options due to the fact that they are certainly able to get to their destinations quicker than through other methods of transportation, as well as the ability to be able to sit back in your own private car and relax while you are driven to your destination of choice.

Thus, the verdict is that taxis are both convenient and can even be affordable options at times, depending on your intended destination, as well as other factors that may come into play, such as weather conditions and national holidays.

Taxi San Francisco International Airport

At the SFO, several companies are ready to assist and drive you wherever you want, through the vehicle of your choice. If you book in advance, you may be able to specify your specific needs and preferences. These may include getting a car or a van with a car seat for a child or a baby, or even a wheelchair accessible vehicle.

All of these factors depend on the company that you choose to work with and how far in advance you book with them. Some companies may even offer that your designated driver meet you inside the airport to help you carry your baggage!

SFO Airport Taxis location

Within every terminal, there is a specific location through which you can pick up a cab. These locations are deemed the ‘taxi zones’ and you can find arrows and signs throughout each terminal pointing you towards them.

Every taxi zone is generally on the same level as the Arrivals and Baggage Claim (for added convenience and to make your journey across the airport run faster). At the level, you can head over to the roadway center island where the taxi zones should be found.

If you cannot find the taxi zone at your terminal, head over to one of the many information booths and ask for assistance. The employees would be glad to direct you to the right way.

San Francisco Airport taxi service

While a taxi from SFO to downtown may take you around 30 minutes, the estimated ride time varies depending on where you may be headed.

Some of the most popular destinations that passengers take from the airport, using taxis, are:

Downtown San Francisco

South San Francisco

Hillsborough

San Bruno

San Jose

Brisbane

The estimated duration per ride is not the only thing that varies based on destination, the fares also change accordingly. The fares also change according to the company whose services you are utilizing, the weather at the time of the trip, rush hour, national holidays, as well as other unexpected or unaccounted for conditions.

The SFO taxi service companies include:

Yellow Can San Francisco – +1 415 333 3333
Airport Taxi Cab – +1 650 593 1234
Taxi Cab Service SFO – +1 650 766 8822

The BART Rapid Rail (Bay Area Rapid Transit) is the train service that is used by the regions of San Francisco, the East Bay, and the northern San Mateo County. This service is the most popular and convenient mode of public transportation in these regions!

With that being said, then it is not a shocker that the BART makes a very important stop at the SFO, the major airport of the surrounding area! Through the BART, passengers can get to connect to CalTrain at the Millbrae Station. This entire network is diverse and runs across all the important stops that you need, making this service a convenient and sought after mode of transportation.

The BART SFO Station is accessible through the AirTrain shuttle service regardless of where you find yourself at the airport. This shuttle service is free of charge and quick, transporting passengers across every major location all over the airport.

BART Schedules to SFO Airport

You may take the BART from SFO to downtown San Francisco, or from San Francisco Airport to Downtown via BART, in a ride that will most likely take you less than 30 minutes.
The prompt travel time, the affordable cost, and the frequent train timings make this option a very logical choice for passengers to take.

To inquire more information on the BART routes and as well as other details, you can check out their website www.bart.gov. You may also look into more SFO-related BART schedules here. You may also call on their number if you would have more urgent questions and inquiries. Call them on +1 510 465 2278.

The specific schedule depends on the destination

If you are headed through the Southbound direction towards Millbrae or SFIA, then the BART can be picked up between 6:33 am and 10:59 pm on weekdays, from 8:01 am to 10:59 pm on Saturdays, and from 8:10 am till 10:07 pm on Sundays.

If you are headed in the Northbound direction towards Pittsburgh or Bay Point, then you can pick up the BART from 5:00 am till 11:53 pm on weekdays, from 6:30 am till 11:53 on Saturdays, and from 8:00 am till 11:53 pm on Sundays.

Where is the BART Station at SFO?

The BART Station at the airport is located exclusively at the International Terminal. The precise location of the platform at the terminal is nearby boarding area G. As already discussed, the AirTrain shuttle service can be used to connect passengers with the International Terminal from just about anywhere at the airport!
BART tickets may be purchased in advance, and the tickets can be redeemed at the information desks at the same terminal as the platform. You may also find a ticket vending machine or kiosk at the terminal as well.
Pre-purchase your tickets through the quick planner here.

The SFO offers a host of options of transportation to choose from. Public and private buses, taxis, shuttles, limousines, private rental cars, rideshare taxis, and even trains; the options are extremely varied. This is most definitely necessary for an airport that is of the enormity and caliber of the SFO.

The variety ensures that everyone has a ride of their liking and one that fits their every need. Even accessible vehicles for those with disabilities are available. Such accessible cars are in the form of taxis from the private companies that operate on the premises of the SFO, or they can be rental cars of the rental car agencies also on the premises. Just remember to always call and book ahead of time for such options to make sure that they definitely have the right vehicle for you!

One mode of transportation, however, is not particularly on-site. That is the popular Caltrain. Nevertheless, the SFO still finds a way to connect its millions of passengers to it through simplified connections. Hence, the Caltrain is considered yet another mode of transportation offered at the SFO!

San Francisco Airport to Caltrain Station

With the significant distance between the SFO and the Caltrain stations, you may be wondering just how to reach Caltrain station from the SFO?

The answer is quite simple – you connect through BART. This is another popular mode of transportation that has its own platform at the airport.

The location is within the International Terminal. Precisely, you can find the platform not far from boarding zone G.

From there, the BART can take passengers to the Millbrae Station, where the Caltrain connects.

If you find yourself at a terminal other than the International Terminal, then that’s an easy fix! Simply hop on an AirTrain shuttle, which transports passengers throughout the airport within minutes! It is a completely free service, and the AirTrain stops can be found just about anywhere in the airport.

Caltrain Schedule

The Caltrain is incredibly convenient, and passengers use it to connect to San Francisco, San Jose, and even Gilroy. To make use of the Caltrain services and to plan ahead for your exciting trip to the area, make sure to check out the detailed Caltrain schedule.

Just as the Caltrain does not exactly operate on the grounds of the SFO, neither does the ferry. Nevertheless, both of these services are considered viable modes of transportation at the SFO since the airport specifically accommodates for them and offers extremely convenient connections to these services.

And while the Caltrain is connected to the airport through the BART that has its own platform at one of the terminals of the airport, the ferry is connected to the airport through a dedicated ferry connector bus. The naming of the bus is self-explanatory, and it is available for all the passengers of the airport to make use of.

Ferry terminal in San Francisco Airport

The ferry terminal in San Francisco Airport happens to be the International Terminal. To get more specific, you can catch the ferry connecter bus at this terminal at the first level, in Courtyard G.
From that stop, the bus takes you directly to the South San Francisco Ferry Dock.

If you find yourself not at the International Terminal, you can easily commute there via the free inter-terminal shuttle known as the AirTrain. You can follow the signs that point to this shuttle, hop on, and be at the International Terminal in a matter of minutes!

SFO ferry schedule

The schedule of the SFO ferry connector bus is rather simple and straightforward.

In short, you can only use this service during the weekday, and it departs at the following timings during the day:

3:52 pm

4:42 pm

6:32 pm

Transferring at the SFO can mean a plethora of things. You might be transiting at the SFO and connecting flights to your final destination. You may also be transferring from one location at the airport to another, or from the airport to the city.

Transiting at the SFO has become a very popular traveling route as the airport accommodates for many different airlines traveling both domestically and internationally.

If you find yourself having a long wait at the airport, treat yourself to one of the many services available that are meant to make your journey easier and more enjoyable. One service in particular has become a fan-favorite amongst travelers who are transiting at the SFO. That service is the Freshen Up. Freshen Up is a hotel-like facility that offers its customers the opportunity to rent private rooms for both short and long periods of time. This will allow you to unwind and take a nap in a quiet, private room. You can also access the shower facilities at an added charge. This concept makes long traveling times so much more bearable and even fun!

San Francisco Airport terminals transfer

If you’re wondering about the San Francisco Airport transfer domestic to International Terminals, then you’re in luck because the SFO has simplified inter-terminal transfer as much as possible!
Simply look for the signs and arrows that point to the AirTrain platforms. This service is a shuttle train that transports people across different locations in the airport in just literal minutes. It is completely free of charge, and it never stops operating all day long and all year long. What is even better is that the estimated wait time is less than five minutes!

San Francisco Airport transfers to hotel

With the SFO being such a large airport, and holding great importance in the region in which it operates in, then it is expected that visitors flock there by the tens of millions every year. That is in fact the case. Before the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted the flow of flights, both in and outside the country, the airport was hosting nearly 50+ million visitors yearly.

These visitors are handled and divided into four different terminals. Three of these terminals deal with domestic flight, while the last one, expectedly, deals with international flights. For even further ease of flow of traffic of passengers within the airport, the terminals have concourses in which different gates can be found at.

The passengers that are lucky enough to arrive through the gates of the SFO are greeted with a pleasant journey through an airport that is easy to navigate. Not to mention that a fun trip awaits them at the Golden Gate City!

Arrivals at San Francisco Airport are also met with a host of options of transportation services to transfer them to their next destination outside the airport. Whether they choose to rent their own cars from the designated SFO Car Rental Center, or they choose to ride the train, they’re surely in for a comfortable ride secured by the airport.

Some passengers, however, merely transit through the SFO. These arriving passengers are also in for a good time with all the wonderful amenities and facilities the airport has to offer. One of such services is the Freshen Up hotel-like service that offers customers an opportunity to rent a private room to cozily relax and take a nap, and even an option of accessing on-site showers to literally freshen up to the fullest.

Flights into SFO are also known for their punctuality, so you can be sure that you will have plenty of time to take a nap without missing your connecting flight!

Flight arrivals San Francisco Airport

If you’re looking to track your arriving flight at the SFO, make use of the flight tracker available here.

Similarly, you have the option of checking your flight status in great detail and organization here, with the ability to categorize flights based on airlines and other features.

SFO International arrivals

The Airport San Francisco Arrivals from international flights will find themselves at the International Terminal. This is expected of all flights coming from outside the United States, with the exception of flights coming in from Canada that are usually accommodated for alongside other domestic flights.

This large terminal connects to its own garage, and you can access the Car Rental Center through the shuttle service, also known as the AirTrain, that transports passengers between different locations within the airport.

Arrivals SFO domestic

The domestic terminals are terminals 1, 2, and 3. As stated earlier, they welcome flights coming in from other airports within the country and from Canada.
They connect to a major parking garage, and are all accessible to one another and to other spots in the airport through the AirTrain.

Every day, over 1,200 SFO flight departures are operated by the airport. This staggering number alone should portray the enormity of the numbers of flights and passengers that this establishment handles.

Yearly, nearly half a million flights in total take to the air from the grounds of the SFO carrying tens of millions of passengers.

Due to the large amount of passengers and flights that the airport deals with, the structure has been carefully chosen to comfortably allow the flow of traffic to run through the airport without becoming too crammed or crowded. The airport is made up of four different terminals, each handling a specific set of flights or airlines, and they are located in a pattern in which they are connected through a path that goes from one terminal to another in a loop. This eases commuting between the terminals as well, which can be done through the shuttle system, named the AirTrain. The AirTrain holds great significance as it never stops operating, transporting passengers for free within minutes.
